D-Orbit Space is based in Boulder, Colorado. We leverage D-Orbit Group heritage and technology to meet the needs of U.S. commercial customers and U.S. government agencies — and where a mission needs it, we offer custom bus designs and manufacturing at scale for constellation customers.
We are a prime contractor on our own missions. On the Deorbit as a Service effort for the Defense Innovation Unit and the Space Development Agency, we perform the design, the spacecraft, the space tug, the platform, assembly, integration and test, and mission operations. We have a U.S. workforce and supply chain to enable U.S. hardware, software, and operations for sensitive American payloads and missions.

Chief Technology Officer, VP Engineering
Led attitude control, flight dynamics and vehicle integration for both Starlink and Kuiper, and architected constellation design and spacecraft guidance, navigation and control. His oversight of integration and test carried both designs through successful first launch.

Four decades across government and industry — NRL and NASA Headquarters, Ball Aerospace, Boeing, SSL/MDA, Raytheon and LeoStella. Captured more than $15 billion in contract wins at better than a 70% win rate. At NASA he led development for JWST, Spitzer and SOFIA.
Vice President, Programs
Program manager for DARPA's $425 million Blackjack, the program that moved U.S. national security space to proliferated LEO. Design lead on the GSSAP and MiTEX maneuver spacecraft, a Dragon executive at SpaceX, and part of the Motorola Iridium team. Most recently general manager of Sierra Space's satellite division, scaling it from $40 million to $400 million in under two years.
Vice President, Operations
Runs company operations. She has held leadership roles at Apollo Fusion, Google, and MTV. Before D-Orbit, Lauren was VP of Operations at Apollo Fusion, overseeing operations and its acquisition, and a core program manager at Google's Loon, managing budgets and NPI for balloon flight systems.
Research and development, including qualification and protoflight activity, is performed at our Boulder, Colorado headquarters.
Our Boulder facility holds a clean room that can support integration of up to three ION satellites at the same time.
For small quantities, AI&T is performed in Boulder. For constellation-scale orders we use an ISO‑9001 and AS9100 certified manufacturing partner.
Our production partner for very large scale serves Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, L3, Space Command and the Department of Defense.
Element Testing, Inspection, & Certification provides outsourced vibration, shock, thermal and thermal-vacuum testing when additional capacity is needed.
We are building out U.S. hardware, software and operations for sensitive American payloads and missions.
D-Orbit Space, Inc. won a $24 million award from the Defense Innovation Unit and the Space Development Agency to prototype and demonstrate Deorbit as a Service for the U.S. Department of Defense — as prime contractor, with mission partners TransAstra and Falcon ExoDynamics.
